Crania Umbra has been a plight on society for as long as she's had the pleasure of speaking. Afflicted with a disorder of memory from an early age, Crania learned to harness swordplay as a means to channel her focus, nearly recovering before the traumatic loss of her parents sent her spiraling off the deep end. Convinced that immortality was the only way she would have some sense of stability, Crania devoted the rest of her life to the ends of deathlessness, though her impulsivity and poor foresight would prove to be a hindrance.

After decades of searching, Crania finally discovered a means to unlock immortality: If she gathered ten powerful warlocks in sacrifice to her patron sword, Ogultha, then he would grant her the gift of immortality. Spending years gathering and training members of her guild under a cult of personality, Crania took a hiatus to pursue other personal goals, leaving her warlocks to help one another as she'd taught them. However, upon her return, she found their number to have diminished, their morale to have dipped, and their power to have hardly grown. The only soul to blame lay curled like a snake within the being called Ambrose: Crania's newfound mortal enemy.
